Oceania Cruises’ line-up of “Signature Sailings” in 2013 includes one with Master Chef Jacques Pépin, jazz artists, wine and culinary experts and more.
Two Wine & Food Celebration voyages will include presentations from chefs and wine connoisseurs, culinary demonstrations, wine tastings and more.
On MARINA’s May 6 20-day “Grand Panama Canal” cruise from Lima to New York City, South American wine expert Daniel Soto will host wine lectures and tastings of South American wines. Paulette Mitchell, chef and culinary author, will join Soto to demonstrate classic South American dishes.
During the Caribbean segment of the cruise, Bacardi Rum’s Brand Ambassador Kate Dahlen will host a rum tasting and the culinary team from Grand Cayman’s Ritz Carlton will demonstrate some Caribbean dishes. Tastings and lectures also will be held with wine expert Karen King and Kathryn Kelly, the executive chef of the onboard Bon Appétit Culinary Center. In addition, the cruise also will feature Wendy Perrin, from Condé Nast Traveler, who will share advice from her “Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know.”
On RIVIERA’s June 23 departure, a 10-day cruise from Monte Carlo to Rome, Kelly will be joined by several culinary experts, including Master Baker Eric Kastel from the Culinary Institute of America. New York wine educator, businessman and sommelier Tony Didio will lead a series of wine lectures, tastings and wine pairing presentations. Master Cheese Expert Max McCalman will share the secrets of great cheeses and how they pair with wine.
Recording artist and Cape Coral restaurateur Valerie Elam will join both the May 6 and June 23 cruises to perform. Master Chef Jacques Pépin, who serves as Oceania Cruises’ executive culinary director, will sail on RIVIERA’s 10-day September 19 cruise from Barcelona to Lisbon. Pépin will host classes in the culinary center.
